EARFLAPS (Make 2)

With right side facing, pick up 14 (16, 18, 20) stitches from the cast-on edge, centered over the beginning of the round (use your yarn tail to determine this point if necessary; it should also be centered under a wolf ear).

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 stitches, ssk, k1.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until 4 stitches remain. Bind off.

FINISHING

Cut 9 strands of yarn about 1 yard (1m) long each (or approximately 2½ times as long as desired) for each ear. Using a tapestry needle, pull the lengths through the bottom center of each earflap, ensuring the yarn is the same length on each side. Divide strands into three sets of 6 strands on 1 side and braid. Tie a firm knot, and trim the ends. Repeat for the other side. Weave in ends.
